Wyze Sprinkler is compatible with most residential irrigation systems in North America. It supports up to 8 zones and can be used with systems that have a master valve or pump relay. It is not weatherproof, so it should only be mounted indoors. It is also not compatible with systems that use index valves.

Sprinkler Plus is an optional service that adds a ton of smarts to your Wyze Sprinkler! With Sprinkler Plus, your Wyze Sprinkler gains advanced weather data that can be used to create Smart Schedules, enable Weather Skips, and provide detailed Zone Moisture information. One year of Sprinkler Plus comes with your purchase and can be renewed annually for $9.99. We plan to continue to add new features and benefits to Sprinkler Plus so stay tuned!

With Sprinkler Plus, you can create Smart Schedules to automatically water your plants when needed. To do this, we use the previous and forecasted weather to calculate the water balance in each zone. When the balance gets to the allowed depletion, we schedule a watering.

If you lose connection to the Internet, Wyze Sprinkler will continue to operate on the saved schedule for the next 14 days. After that, the device falls back to your offline schedule.

No, Wyze Sprinkler requires power to operate your irrigation system.

Wyze Sprinkler is only compatible with up to 8 zones. Do not attempt to put multiple wires into one terminal or daisy chain devices. However, two controllers can work independently, but you must label the zone-to-controller mapping on your own.

Before you begin set up:

An existing irrigation system is required to use Wyze Sprinkler Controller - it is not a standalone device. Installation and setup should take about 30 minutes.

CAUTION : In order to avoid potential damage from ELECTRICAL INTERFERENCE, pump relays should be installed at least 15 FEET away from Wyze Sprinkler Controller.

Required Tools

  • A power drill with a Phillips head and 7/32 drill bit
  • Hammer

Remove your existing controller

Before you get started, disconnect the power to your existing sprinkler controller.

  1. In the Wyze app, tap Home, then tap the plus sign + on the top right.
  2. On the Add menu, tap Device.
  3. Tap Home > Wyze Sprinkler.
  4. Tap Begin Mounting. Check the box next to "I've unplugged the power to my existing controller".
  5. Tap Begin.
  6. Take a photo of the wires going into your existing controller. You may have to remove the cover to expose the wires. This photo will be helpful if you require additional troubleshooting.
  7. In the Wyze app, select the terminals that have wires going into them on your old controller. See wires that aren't listed in the app? Please see: I don't see all my terminals
  8. Once you've selected the wires, use the included stickers to label each wire.
  9. Finally, disconnect the labeled wires and remove your old controller from the wall. If your old controller is in a box, you may need to remove it.

Install the mounting plate

The first step is to hold the mounting plate in the desired location. It's important you check that both the new power adapter and your existing wires will reach the new mounting location.

  1. Hold the mounting plate to the wall and use a pen to mark the holes.
  2. Use a 7/32 drill bit to pre-drill the holes.
  3. Then, insert the wall anchors, gently hammering them into place.
  4. Hold the mounting plate back up to the wall and screw the plate into position.
    Be sure that the Wyze logo is right-side up.

Connect your Wyze Sprinkler

  1. Insert each labeled wire to the corresponding terminal on Wyze Sprinkler The two C terminals are the same so you can insert your C-Wire to either one.You will need to press down on the terminal lever to insert the wire.
  2. Once inserted, make sure the wires are fully inserted and stay in place when gently tugged.
  3. Plug Wyze Sprinkler into an outlet using the included adapter
  4. Wait for the numbers on the front of the device to start cycling in orange.

Your device is now ready to be paired to the Wyze app, after it's mounted.

Mount your Wyze Sprinkler

Place the top of the device into the mounting plate and then firmly push the bottom into place.

You should hear a snap as it locks into place. You can also use the included cord wraps to neatly tie all your zone cords together.

Pairing to the Wyze app

  1. The numbers on the Wyze Sprinkler should be cycling in orange, it's in pairing mode. Don't see this? Make sure the Wyze Sprinkler is plugged into power, then press the reset button on the back.
  2. Follow the in-app instructions to complete pairing.

Once the device is paired to the Wyze app, you will be asked to set up your zones.

Activating Sprinkler Plus

Each new Wyze Sprinkler Controller comes with 1 year of Sprinkler Plus. To redeem your prepaid year, simply scan the QR code on the card in the box with your phone and follow the on-screen instructions to complete activation.

Wyze Sprinkler is not a standalone device, is not an irrigation system, and it cannot be used as a timer that attaches directly to a hose. It works similarly to how Wyze Thermostat replaces your existing thermostat, and how Wyze Video Doorbell replaces your existing wired doorbell.
