Wyze Switch - Warnings and Instructions for Use

READ AND UNDERSTAND ALL WARNINGS BEFORE INSTALLING OR USING WYZE SWITCH. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH, OR DAMAGE TO THE PRODUCT OR NEARBY PROPERTY.
- Contact a licensed electrician for installation. Wyze Switch requires basic electrical wiring for installation. If local codes or laws prohibit you from self-installing or if you are uncomfortable with basic electrical wiring, consult a licensed electrician. Attempting to conduct the work yourself if you are not familiar with basic electrical wiring could result in you receiving an electric shock, which could cause serious personal injury or death. It could also result in improper installation, which could result in a fire, explosion, smoking, or electrical shock, which could result in serious personal injury, death, and damage to Wyze Switch and nearby property.
- Follow all installation instructions. In addition to these warnings, the materials accompanying your Wyze Switch include detailed installation instructions. Failing to follow those installation instructions could result in you receiving an electric shock, which could cause serious personal injury or death. It could also result in improper installation, which could result in a fire, explosion, smoking, or electrical shock, which could result in serious personal injury, death, and damage to Wyze Switch and nearby property.
- Not for use outside of North America. Wyze Switch is designed for use with 120-volt power. Do not install Wyze Switch outside of North America, where 220-volt power is the standard. Installing Wyze Switch into a system that uses something other than 120-volt power may render Wyze Switch unusable.
- Use your circuit breaker to turn off your power before installing or adjusting Wyze Switch or removing your old switch to do so. Confirm you have properly shut off the power by toggling your old switch on and off. Keep the power off until installation is finished and all wires are securely connected. Consult the installation instructions for guidance on securely connecting the wires and re-establishing power. Installing Wyze Switch without turning off power to the switch location may cause severe electrical shock, fire, explosion, or smoking, which could result in serious personal injury or death. It could also result in damage to Wyze Switch or other nearby property.
- Use only the setup kit (including the mounting screws) provided with your Wyze Switch. Wyze Switch may not be compatible with other mounting materials, including non-Wyze mounting screws. Installing and using Wyze Switch with mounting materials other than the materials provided by Wyze may cause damage to your Wyze Switch and/or other nearby property.
- For indoor use only. Wyze Switch is not waterproof. Do not get it wet. Install Wyze Switch indoors and away from areas of moisture and excessive humidity, like bathrooms and steam rooms. Installing Wyze Switch outside or near moisture or more than 85 percent humidity may cause overheating, fire, explosion, electric shock, or smoking, which could result in serious personal injury. It could also result in other damage to Wyze Switch or nearby property.
- Do not get Wyze Switch wet. Wyze Switch is not waterproof. Do not get it wet. Do not toggle Wyze Switch with wet hands. Only clean Wyze Switch with a dry cloth. Getting Wyze Switch wet may cause overheating, fire, explosion, electric shock, or smoking, which could result in serious personal injury. It could also result in other damage to Wyze Switch or nearby property.
- Do not block Wyze Switch’s airflow by painting it or otherwise covering it. Wyze Switch relies on airflow to cool itself. Do not block airflow around Wyze Switch by painting around or otherwise covering the wall plate or Wyze Switch. Blocking airflow to Wyze Switch for a prolonged duration may cause the device to overheat and decrease its overall operational lifetime.
- Do not install Wyze Switch near heat sources or places where heat collects. Wyze Switch should not be installed in direct sunlight, near heat sources (e.g., fireplaces, portable or baseboard heaters), or other areas where heat collects. Ensure that Wyze Switch is installed in cool areas with adequate ventilation. Specifically, Wyze Switch should not be installed in environments hotter than 104°F or cooler than 32°F. Allowing Wyze Switch to become too hot may accelerate aging and fading of the device, and decrease its overall operational lifetime.
- Stop using Wyze Switch immediately if you suspect any part is damaged. Inspect Wyze Switch regularly. If you suspect any part is damaged, discontinue use immediately and use your circuit breakers to turn off power. Continuing to use Wyze Switch if any part is damaged may cause overheating, fire, explosion, electric shock, or smoking, which could result in serious personal injury. It could also result in other damage to Wyze Switch or nearby property.
- Do not attempt to remove, repair, or modify any part. Your Wyze Switch does not contain user-serviceable parts. Do not attempt to open it. Attempting to open or alter Wyze Switch could result in you receiving an electric shock, which could result in personal injury or death. It could also cause damage to Wyze Switch’s internal parts, which could cause overheating, fire, explosion, electric shock, or smoking, which could result in serious personal injury, death, or additional damage to Wyze Switch or other nearby property.
