Sconces that play nice with Bulb Cam
These common outdoor and indoor sconce styles fit the Bulb Cam with room to spare. If your fixture matches one of these, you're good to go.
Measurements based on Wyze Bulb Cam v1 (4.4" L × 3.1" W). Sconce examples reflect typical dimensions — always measure your specific fixture. We recommend at least 0.25" clearance for ventilation.
Which fixture do I have?
- Open Socket — A bare bulb with nothing surrounding it. Table lamps, pendant cords, exposed porch sockets.
- Flush Ceiling — A dome or disc mounted flat against the ceiling with a glass or acrylic cover.
- Wall Sconce — Mounted to a wall, often with a shade or partial enclosure that opens at top or bottom.
- Outdoor Coach — Lantern-style fixtures common on porches, garages, and entryways. Usually have glass panels.
How to measure your fixture
Power off the fixture first. Then:
- Depth: Measure from the back of the socket (where the bulb screws in) to the inside of the cover, shade, or fixture edge.
- Width: Measure the narrowest interior point — usually the opening where the bulb passes through any cover or trim.
A standard ruler or tape measure works. If your fixture has a glass cover, remove it first and measure with the cover off.
