Wyze Solar Cam Pan Security Camera Voluntary Recall

In cooperation with the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, Wyze Labs, Inc. is voluntarily recalling certain Wyze Solar Cam Pan security cameras due to a safety issue related to incorrect installation instructions. This recall applies to Solar Cam pan security cameras purchased on or before April 3, 2026 only.
Wyze Solar Cam Pan security camera includes two different types of screws for installation: short pan-head machine screws and long flat-head wood screws. The short pan-head machine screws are intended to attach the solar panel bracket to the top of the camera. The long flat-head wood screws are intended only for mounting the product to a wall or other surface. If the long flat-head wood screws are incorrectly used to attach the solar panel bracket to the top of the camera, they may penetrate the closed-bottom brass inserts and puncture the internal lithium-ion battery's metal casing, causing the battery to rapidly overheat, posing a risk of serious injury or property damage from a fire or burn hazard.
What do Consumers Need to Do?
Consumers should stop using the recalled Wyze Solar Cam Pan security camera immediately and determine whether your device is affected by the recall. All consumers who used the long, flat-head screw to install the solar panel on top of the camera should participate in the recall. If you are uncertain regarding the type of screw used during installation, please click on the “step-by-step” guide below to determine which screw you used in installation.
