    Awesome product Wyze. We have 3 of the 4 bulbs sent in use and love the ease of the set up and connectivity. The control of brightness to color scheme is really cool. No pun intended.

    the instructions are bad at best, should have taken a few minutes, not an hour, the switching back and forth one wifi from router to bulb is painfull

    Ordered only 1 pack, now I’m sad that I only have 4 bulbs. Easy peesy to set up. Works great w/ Alexa! I have one in a torch lamp in the living room, and the remaining 3 are in the ceiling fan as a group. I can control them individually or as a group. Works great w/ IFTTT. And also great to change the colors from warm white to cool.

    The bulbs are easy to set up in a 3-bulb ceiling fixture. When turned off at the wall switch all bulbs revert to set-up mode, every time.

    I thought I could program each bulb like it had its own timer. Time to go on and off each day. When on vacation mode it doesn’t know the time and turns the bulb on during the day. I don’t want it on during the day only at night time.

    Wyze Bulbs are awesome. Easy setup, and I love the blue light option. Discovered the vacation settings, and option to have turn off and on at certain time intervals. I’m sure more features are coming, but these are great right out of the box. What a great company!

    Never connects to Wi-Fi

    The bulb is supposed to connect to Wi-Fi but never connects. Tried multiple times with multiple scenarios. Turned off Mobile Data, tried different light fixtures at various distances from router, tried different bulbs…….nothing. I wasted $40 with shipping!

The bulbs will only work with a 2.4GHz WiFi network, they will not be compatible with a 5GHz network. You will want to ensure your device is connected to the correct network type when setting up.     Set-up was fairly easy and pretty straight forward. I really like the ability to have quick button profiles between warmness/coolness and brightness. I used IFTTT to turn on the bulb at the time I wake up for the day. It really helps to wake me up. Couldn’t be more happy with the product!

    FYI for Android users. When connecting to bulb for setup be sure to hit “yes” and check “don’t ask me again” on the notification to stay connected to the source (the bulb) with “no internet.” This gave me issues.

    If I could change or add one thing it would be a wireless button/switch. That would keep me from having to access the app every time. Other than that it’s great!

    Very nice product. Works great, so far. Set up was a little tricky, but after trying a few times, it connected. A suggestion: can there be a way to create multiple timers so that I can turn the light on with one timer and also have a second timer running to turn the light off after a period of time? That would be helpful, if possible.

    Amazing Bulbs, Unmatched Value

    In regards to value WYZE products have been unmatched and these bulbs are no exception. Connection was quick and easy and I was able to control the bulbs through the WYZE App within minutes. Google Home integration is flawless. Just add WYZE to Google Home App and the bulbs appear in Google Home as quickly as they are connected through the WYZE App. The bulbs allow control of the light intensity as well as color (Candle light, Incandescent, Warm White, Cool White, Daylight and Ivory) by voice command to Google Home. Additionally, which I find to be a great touch, you can control color by stating the corresponding temperature in degrees Kelvin, for example “Google, set the bedroom lights to 4,000K” I have recommended your products to countless people and you have easily earned my continued support.     Once up and running in the wyze app, I then turned to Alexa. I needed to disable the wyze skill, then re-enable it, then it was able to discover the bulbs. After the first one, and knowing how, the rest were easy. If I remember right, google-home already had the wyze connection for my cams and it found the bulbs right away. Couldn’t have been much easier.

    Lights are great but app lacks functionality

    .

    I’d like to set the lights to turn on and off automatically when is getting dark and command that on/off with either the open close magnetic thingys for the doors or the infrared detector but can’t do that just yet. Please add some more functionality otherwise it’s just a light with an expensive remote (smartphone)

You may set up schedules or automation for the bulbs using the Shortcut feature in the Wyze app. This will be located on the Home tab, the “…” in the top right hand corner, and Edit Shortcuts. Here you will want to add a new Shortcut with the Action “Bulb-Turn On” and the Automation “Time of Day” for a specific time or Event “Sensor-Opens/Detects Motion.” You may do the same thing to turn the bulb off when they close or no longer detect motion.     No Hookup

    I have spent a half hour trying to get the bulb to hook up. I have a very strong WiFi in my house. My new Galaxy S9+ linked to that WiFi and the bulb (while blinking) showed up in the WiFi options. When I clicked on it, up came a message saying “try another network”. I did, since I have two and same thing happened. I did not put the bulb in a fixture that has a dimmer but the fixture does have 3 clicks on it allowing increasing brightness. I tried this with a 2nd bulb with same effect. I ran around the entire 6K sqft house and could not find a light fixture that didn’t have that feature. If this is the cause of the problem, and I had been told this in advance, I would never have purchased them.

When setting up the bulbs for the first time you will want to disable your LTE connection on your device, if it is enabled it may interfere with the setup process when you switch your WiFi to the bulb connection.     I love my WYZE wifi bulbs. They work great. I have one in the bedside lamp of my son’s room. He likes to read before going to sleep but sometimes (okay… a lot of times) he falls asleep with the light on. Now I have a automated time for the lamp to turn off which 1) keeps him from staying up too late 2) eliminates the need for me to go into his room and make sure he didn’t fall asleep with the lamp on.

    I also use one on my front porch. It is triggered by a WYZE motion sensor using a shortcut (done in the mobile app). When the sensor detects motion for more than 4 seconds, it turns the front porch lamp on. A second shortcut turns the lamp off when the motion sensor has not detected any motion for 10 continuous minutes.

    There is tons of flexibility with the wifi lights by making shortcuts in the mobile app, linking the bulbs to sensors or cameras, by using free services like IFTTT (https://ifttt.com and by using Alazon Alexa and Google Assistant. I am looking forward to all the ways I can use them.

    PS – you can also use the mobile app to set a bulb (or a bunch of them) to Vacation Mode. This will turn the bulbs on and off randomly to simulate someone being home!

    Set up instructions (mobile data off etc.) could have been a little more detailed but hey, no biggie some others figured it out & shared. Thank you! Still getting used to settings, simply want to set on at 9:00 pm off at 6:00 am or some variant of that. I am sure little details like that will come. “Sock on the doorknob” setting might come in handy!!! Love WYZE, keep the rest of ’em wondering how you do it.

    Great Bulbs

    I have used other smart bulbs and have been unhappy with most of the features. I have no use for a purple or blue light in my bedroom. I just want a light that comes on when i need it. That’s why i love Wyze bulbs. They’re incredibly easy to use. Setup was at first a bit tricky–Its best to turn off your cellphone data when setting up. I love the fact that they dim to off. I also love the fact that you can coose how warm/cool the color of the light is. It’s the little touches that make this product amazing.

    new bolb are good

    A couple of days ago the new wize light bulbs came to my house, I was really surprised how easy it was to connect them to my wifi and also to alexa, but unfortunately I can not say the same when trying to connect the second bulb, the time I expired several times without success to connect to the wifi, I have not yet been able to connect it, I do not give up anyway, I think it is a great product, simple and very functional, I will keep you informed when I try to connect the three light bulbs that I remain

    So close to being a premium product

    I am a huge fan of Wyze products. I think they have the right mindset of allowing individuals to keep their home safe and automated at reasonable prices with premium style features. I will never go elsewhere for my home security products (Except for external. I have an Arlo set for that, but waiting for Wyze to create outdoor use cameras.)

    That being said, these bulbs were a nice surprise when they were offered, I bought 2 sets on the pre-release. I just set them up and was excited to use them to turn on when I opened a door or got caught with one of my motion sensors. Here is where the problem lies and I dock this bulb 2 stars:

    In order to get this bulb to work with an automation (i.e. turn on when a different sensor is triggered, or at a certain time of day) you have to create a shortcut in your Wyze app. This is completely fine and fairly easy to do. The problem lies with creating a window of time you want this automation to occur. This is impossible to do. I have these light bulbs set up in two lamps in my master bedroom. I want them to turn on when I open the door to my bedroom between 7am – 9:30pm. This will allow me to go to the bathroom at night without these turning on and waking my wife. Even after asking tech support if this was possible, they said it is not. This is something that, in all honesty, should have been included in the beginning in my opinion.

    That being said, everything else about this product is great. The price, ease of set-up, heft (feels quality), and style are all fantastic. It is only lacking in features. I believe in later updates that they may become even better,

    These were just as simple to set up as my Wyze cameras. I like the fact that no hub is needed. I bought two packs of these to just try them. I’ll be buying more. Too bad other companies can’t sell things like this that work right out of the box. Even my Luddite friend could set up and operate these and that’s saying a lot.

    I installed the first of four bulbs in the lamp in the farthest corner of the master bathroom. It’s an area of our house with spotty WiFi. The instructions were awesome as usual for Wyze and the installation went perfectly. The bulb connected without any issues.

    I am Disappointed in this product

    It took me a quite awhile to get the bulb to sync up with the Wyze App. Once I did get it to Sync I was disappointed to find out that I could not kick old timer to the curb. I wanted to set-up for the bulb to turn on at a set time and turn off at a set time. I was also hoping the once I opened the door it would turn on the light and then shut off after a few minutes. I don’t believe you should have to set-up short cut to make some of these figures I listed to happen. I was really hoping for a more user friendly set-up of the bulb. I will say it is bright and it is great that you can change soft to daylight. I like that it can dim as well. I just which I could get it to turn on and off when I want it to like an old timer would and I wish that I could get it to turn on when a door is opened and then turn back off after a specified time. There is room for improvement but it is a good start by Wyze.

    I got 8 of these bulbs and have them all over my house. They are working great. The Wyze app is awesome, the scenes work great and I’ve been able to use Google Home with everything easily as well. IFTTT support is awesome, but honestly I don’t even need it since the Wyze app and automations there are perfect.

    Awesome Bulbs...but, Setup is cumbersome.

    Great smart bulbs, but, set up can be a bit cumbersome.

    First – setup is not automagic in the least bit. It requires the user to switch wireless access points from home wifi to bulb wifi then go back to the app to continue the process. With the proper permissions on the phone, the APP should be able to do this itself. Streamline this, please!

    Also, phone users will have to disable mobile data BEFORE attempting to set up the device. Not sure why this is a requirement, but, it definitely interferes with the configuration process if left enabled. Hopefully, the Wyze team can find a way around this. Shouldn’t be terribly difficult since other smart accessory providers don’t require this.

    Lastly – bulb color can not be tuned via the Google Home app. Not sure why this is, yet…the options are there, but, the change never gets applied to the bulb. Not sure where the issue lies on this one.

    My first WYZE purchase and I’m relatively pleased. We’ll see the long-term results later. Hopefully, WYZE announces an outdoor camera soon!

    Failure after failure to connect

    I’ll start by saying that these light bulbs seem great. But, the installation process has dramatically reduced their appeal. I purchased 2 packs of Wyze Bulbs and received them within the estimated time frame. So, 5 stars for delivery! Now, fast forward to the set up process. You need to individually set up each light bulb which is in itself a little tedious, but manageable. What ends up being unreasonable is the fact that it took 30 minutes to set up one bulb following the provided instructions and the 2.4ghz network and nearly one hour to attempt to install the second light bulb. I want to highlight the attempt word in my previous statement because even after 1 hour I kept receiving a “failure to connect” notification. So, using the times that I’ve seen as a reference point, I think that it’s safe to assume that it’s going to take me anywhere between 3.5 to 7 hours to install or attempt to install my Wyze Bulbs. And, that’s being generous and assuming that my light bulbs will magically connect after 1 hour of trying, which did not happen with my second bulb.

    All in all, these light bulbs seem wonderful and at their price point they’re a great deal! But unfortunately, their connectivity issues cast a terrible light on these bulbs.

    Let there be light!

    I bought several packs of these bulbs to replace warm color Cree and move a few hue bulbs around where the color was not needed. I thought the wyze bulbs would be at least the same brightness as the hue bulbs since both list 800 lumens. I must inform you that either the power of wyze is understated or hue just is not truthful in their brightness. The wyze bulbs (especially in daylight white mode) are amazing and clear. I thought the sun was still up (was watching a film and working on computer do lost track of time) and it was only the new wyze bulb proving its exsistance and shining on with out a hum, or blink, or falter. The is not something I expected at this price point. I have lights that are the cost of my entire order for a single bulb and for the price of one other named bulb, I get an amazing experience and I’m completely satisfied with the product. I demo it often to others who want to compare hue, Cree, and others. The only item commented from my guests was that these new bulbs do not do color. I am quick to point out that merely months ago, wyze was only though of as inexpensive cameras. This excites me and others that Wyze is not just a product, it is a platform and company we can trust and will do right to support.
    Thank you Wyze for all that you give us. We will continue to support and hope to see more great opportunities to grow with you and your company.

    I was an early adopter of these. I’ve had them now for several weeks. You can turn them off and on and change the light temp, (not the color). These would be great if they were stable but since day one they turn on randomly several times a day and night. Four bulbs all in different rooms. Two do i t more often than the other two but they all do it. You would be better off just using a smart plug. It does they same thing except being able to change the brightness. I have never had this kind of issue with any product before, only these bulbs. If in the future this was somehow corrected with software or something then I would say get it. But in their currant status, I would not get them unless you like to have all of your bulbs randomly tun on multiple times a day AND night.

However, I did have to go to Support page to figure out how to Add Shortcuts to set up timed on and off events…but no big deal. Took about 20 minutes from opening package to customized on/off events. Will be ordering more of these soon.

Your device may try to reconnect back to your cellular data connection when the bulb is selected for WiFi as it will not detect a signal.     Already having their cameras, adding the bulbs was as easy as setting up the cameras. I replaced the porch lights, configured the color, brightness and then set an ON and OFF time …all through the same app as the cameras. Since the porch requires 3 bulbs, creating a ‘Group’ in the app makes it even easier for configuration! Another great product WYZE team!

    Was excited to receive these and put them to use, however most of the fixtures in our home take a candlebra style. I was excited to use them in my outdoor lights and set up a routine for on/off at sunset/sunrise. Unless I relocate my router, I can’t maintain a dependable connection with the outer light even thought the signal strength shows full. I used 2 more in the bedroom for our nightstands and they work great but I’ll need another Echo dot to control them. The big downfall was when the electric flickers (power hiccup) then the bedroom light turn themselves on. That was not pleasing for the wife. Sadly, that pretty much doomed them for the bedroom. At present, it looks like I have 1 bulb out of 4 that I can use in my home. :(

    I am in love with my new Wyze bulbs. My basements light switches are in some interesting spots. They can be hard to find when you come out of the theater room. I paired the bulbs with my Sense kit to automatically turn the lights on when you open or door or if it detects motion. I feel like a king now. I walk down my stairs and the lights turn on for me.

    I am really loving my new bulbs! The setup was super easy, the app guides you through every step. I only took about 10 minutes to setup all 4 bulbs. Quick note…if you are using your bulbs with Alexa, download the Wyze Skill first before you do the setup and install of your Wyze bulbs. If you do that then Alexa will recognize any new bulb or camera you set up. I also previously purchased the Wyze Pan Cam, this camera delivers on everything you need. The only thing I would like is if the microphone on the cam could be a little louder, if my kids are gaming/watching tv, it is hard for them to hear me through the cam. I am so glad I found Wyze it is a huge product with a small price tag making it an affordable option for anyone needing a little extra security.

It took several connection attempts to get them set up, I think it may have been my router and internet provider that caused the problem. Once I had them set up they worked great!     My friend placed an Early Adopter order for Wyze bulbs, and when they arrived, he gave me two of the four. I set them up in less than 60 seconds through the Wyze app on iOS by scanning the QR code on the base. Next, I connected them to my Google Home app to give me access through Google Assistant and assigned each to a room to control them by name as you can see in the video link I shared. I have also been able to control the brightness percentage and color warmth via Google Assistant. I read all of the recent negative reviews,

    Like you, I have read all of the recent 1-star reviews, and I’m sorry some folks are having trouble. For me, everything has been working correctly since installation three weeks ago, and I just ordered four more Wyze Bulbs today to complete the rest of my lamps that need a smart bulb. I rate them 5-stars, and I highly recommend the Wyze Bulb.

    I have about 10 Philips Hue bulbs that are great but I think the price is insane for what is offered so I decided to try these out. I bought 5 of them as soon as Wyze released them and I am really glad I did. The bulbs were easy to setup. They are bright and have the ability to change the color temperature which I think is a great feature for a bulb that costs less than $10. The only downside to this product right now is that there isn’t a physical button that Wyze sells like the Philips Hue Dimmer Switch that can dim and turn the lights on and off. If Wyze had a switch that could do that, this would be a 5-Star review. Other than a single con I think these bulbs are worth the money and if you are looking for smart lights I would highly recommend these bulbs.

    I love the Wyze bulbs. I’ve installed them in 4 fixtures in my home and may do more. A couple of features Wyze should look in to…. 1. Can the app support a timer feature? The vacation mode is nice but when I’m at home I’d like to be able to set specific daily times for certain rooms to go on or off without having to open the app. 2. LED light color is difficult and I like the ability to change from white to yellow hues, but the light colors still feel un-natural.

    Very excited to receive my 4 pack this afternoon. Got everything set up (indicated set up was successful) but the firmware would not update, for all four bulbs. Tried everything, even locating close to our wifi router. Nothing. Bulbs on app but could not be controlled. I spent a long time trying to update as each update attempt takes about several minutes. Waiting for tech support to provide input. Disappointed can not use bulbs for an upcoming vacation.

    Problem at first but worked through it.

    When I got my bulbs I set one up and had no problems with it. Then a few days later I wanted to get the other 3 setup and put them out to use. I kept having trouble connecting to the bulbs through my S10, tried a few times and with each bulb and the took the one I did do deleted it and had the same problem. I then got my Samsung tablet that has no service on it and boom I was able to connect to the bulbs and set them up. Now they are all up and love them with my cameras I am Wyze for life.

    I did receive these bulbs late due to UPS passing the package off to USPS. But that has nothing to do with WYZE itself. I pre-ordered the 4 pack when it became first available, Upon delivery, I installed 2 bulbs. One on the side of my house and on in the living room. I find the App easy to use and navigate, Syncing the bulbs to my WiFi was a little challenging but it did connect. Better to sync bulbs with socket closest to router, then move bulb to desired location. In theory, the “vacation” mode is a good idea. But I don’t need the bulb turning itself on/off during the day too. A better idea would be to have a timer that turns the light on and off at desired times, on a programmable schedule. That is what I feel is missing, I would give the bulbs 5 stars if it had that feature. I’m not using the other 2 bulbs because of that missing feature. I have a few lamps hooked up to wall timers which theoretically makes the WYZE bulbs pointless. Thank you for considering my feedback.

    The bulbs were very easy to set up and I had no issues. The directions were OK but could be improved. From selling software and technical products I have learned that when you make instructions they need to be made for a neophyte and don’t assume that people know anything.
    The Vacation Mode is a nice feature however, all the bulbs go on and off at the same times. If the bulbs are in different rooms / floors in your home it looks like you had a power failure rather than being on vacation. How could you turn on & off all the lights at one time on different locations in your home? Vacation mode should also be able to be set by the user not 6-9 am and 6-11 pm only. Let the user decide the time the lights should go on and off. At least have an option to choose just 6-11 pm. Lastly on the Vacation Mode, it would be nice if each light in different rooms went on and off at different times. Then it would look like you might be home.
    The setup for the Scene to turn on a bulb has the user try to figure out how many hours from say 1:15 pm does he want the bulb to go on at 7:00 pm and off at 10:45 pm. Instead of that why not have the app sync the time of the device being used for the setup to set the On/Off times. When WyzeCams detect events they are logged with the actual time.

    Really happy with these so far. The dimming and color features are well implemented and look great. Perfect for my day/night scenes. I haven’t had a chance to test Google home integration but I trust it will work well.
    I love how easy it is to add the bulbs to my home and really appreciate that they are able to easily connect. I tried the Feit bulbs and they were terrible because it required me to split my network into separate SSIDs for 2.4 and 5ghz in order for them to connect or to use a device that is not 5ghz capable to connect and control them.

    I was really hopping that the bulbs would work as great as the rest of their products. I have several Wyze cams as well ad the Wyze sense and love them both. So I was excited about the Wyze bulb, but I am finding I am extremely disappointed. Out of the 4 bulbs I received, one doesn’t work at all. It will not connect despite trying 15 times. Only way to turn it off or on is to use the switch on the lamp, and you can forget about doing anything else with it. one constantly disconnects from the Wi-Fi and the Wyze app. I have to reconnect it every day so far to get it to work. Once its connected it works perfectly till it loses connection again. One will only respond half the time despite it being connected, I have to disconnect and reconnect it for it to work right for awhile and then it will act up again. And the last one works perfectly I haven’t had issues with it disconnecting or not working the way it should.

    After finally getting my bulbs. One fell about 20 feet onto hardwood flooring., and I thought … just great after waiting so long I’ve already broken one.. But to my surprise, it did not break. And it turned on and still works flawlessly. With the exception of a flattened part that screws in, (proof of the impact) my only wish is that a timer gets added to the app so one can do multiple on off times for the week. Great stuff otherwise.

    I initially gave these one star but I discovered if you open the app AFTER The bulb is in discovery mode the connection is more successful. I did finally get all four to connect, with three in a group. I had a lot of issues with bulb’s going off-line or disappearing entirely, but now they are all working. We’ll see…
    I noticed also if the bulb is off-line, close the app and re-open it then drag down to refresh. It should come back online.

    Unfortunately it’s pretty cumbersome to do any sort of automation, shortcuts should go away for an actions page or something. Should be camera trigger for no motion for X minutes (pile motion sensor has). Scheduling should replace timers, scheduling should include color and brightness fade over time, Had to put in airplane mode to set up bulbs, not a problem but should be in instructions. Google Home integration is nice, could be better (ie turn off light in 5 minutes, turn light blue)

    These bulbs are great! I really didn’t know all the features they had when I placed my early order for them. I was excited to see that they are dimming bulbs and you can even change the type of light they put out. From Cool to soft light settings, it has it all! I’ve only used 2 out of the 4 bulbs so far but they work great! Setting them up in the app took just a few minutes and connecting them to Alexa was super easy! I recommend these bulbs 100% Will eventually buy more. Wyze just does not make a bad product!!!

    Inexpensive without sacrificing quality

    Thank you Wyze for taking on the likes of Philips and bringing us a quality product that is less cumbersome than the Philips Hue set up.

    I now own a set of Philips Hue, Wyze and the Philips bulbs that don’t need the hub. Wyze has more functionality with my home automation setup, can change temperature which neither of the Philips bulbs can do, and easy set up.

    Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate that Philips brought us a quality bulb to begin with, but hats off to Wyze for entering the market with a high quality product as far as I can tell and keeping Philips on their toes.

    At first I was disappointed. I purchased 8 bulbs, put 4 in the bathroom and configured. Next I discovered them with Alexa. Then when I would tell Alexa to turn off bathroom only 2 would turn off… In the Wyze app only 2 bulbs would show online. I don’t know what I did…

    I found how to do a factory reset of the bulbs and added the bulbs again to Wyze and Alexa a second time, success!!!

    Work great. Next will try a motion sensor in there.

    Love the Wyze bulbs, extremely simple to pair and use. Being able to integrate them with multiple systems (IFTTT, Alexa, etc) along with robust actions already in the Wyze app makes buying these a no-brainer.

    The only thing I’d like to see these bulbs do that they currently don’t is gradual brightness changes. It’d be great to have them fade in or out on a timer or action (especially when coming on in the morning).

    As an early & avid WYZE camera user, these bulbs did not totally impress. They are a bit cumbersome to set-up but do have on/off, timer, & the ability to adjust brightness and warmth. Would like more lumens in order to use in more areas. I am able to use in some areas for security but they are not bright enough to use for reading, etc. They are listed at 800 lumens but do not seem that bright. Using more than one, ie: 3 lamp stand, works well, but is an expensive use of bulbs. I could use regular LED bulbs with a BT plug to achieve a better lighting at a cheaper cost. Hoping these improve but am sorry that I have 8 of these. I will try to use with the sense modules, but hate to waste them for closets, etc., when they are better suited for outside door security. Just my opinions, based on the uses I have tried, so far. Still waiting for “OUTDOOR” cameras. One last thought, “only works with 2.4GHZ” is a real pain, as I usually use my phone with 5GHZ. I start to set the bulbs up and then I have to reset my wifi to 2.4GHZ to finish. Not sure why the bulbs don’t work with both settings, but that is why I am not a GEEK!

    First off when I opened my box there was one bulb that was coming a part. The metal casing that is the contact point for electricity and it’s sealant was coming off from the bulb housing. This made the bulb turn on but I couldn’t setup the bulb. I couldn’t get that bulb into pairing mode. The other three I didn’t have any issues with other than android specific problems.

    I was a little disappointed that these don’t connect via zigbee or z-wave and they have to connect to my wifi. Knowing that they didn’t I still backed the project because of the price.

    Because these bulbs only connect to wifi I ran into a couple of issues particularly around android which made for a bad user experience. The instructions that I received from support said that, for android in particular, you needed to have your phone reconnect to the broadcasted wifi signal coming from the bulb once you start the setup process. The popup only appears the first time you connect to the wifi so watch for it! Without clicking the “stay connected to this wifi” (because there is no internet access at that endpoint), the app will just timeout on the “Connecting…” step. Once it times out it doesn’t give you any feedback as to why or what might have caused it.

    Once that was all figured out, setting up the bulb with my Google home account was painless and easy to do. I haven’t had any issues with turning on or off the lights, or adjusting the brightness using voice commands.

    Besides the one bulb having a physical problem and some of the bumps around user experience, I give my review 3 stars. If they can solve some of those issues, and maybe add in a z-wave implementation 😆, I would give 5 stars.

    I had a bit of difficulty initially setting up my Wyze Bulbs. Turns out that I had mobile data enabled on my phone, which interfered with the the installation procedure.
    Kudos to Philip at Wyze support who informed me of the problem. I switched Mobile (Cellular) data off during the setup, and everything worked fine.

    I love our Wyze bulbs! I set up our bonus room ceiling lights with 6 bulbs and two scenes–bright and cool white for puzzles and crafts, dim and warm for TV watching. I have a group so I can control the whole room with a tap, but I can also control each one individually (such as turning off the bulbs over the TV). Alexa also makes it super easy to just walk out and ask her to turn everything off.

    I wake up in the morning to a warmly lit room, courtesy of schedules for some lamps. I love these bulbs, and no one can believe they’re so affordable–and so easy to set up.

    We also have the Wyze cam for a baby monitor and I rave about it to everyone. The video resolution is awesome and the notifications make a huge difference. Great quality, great price!

    I haven’t synced the bulbs to our Wyze sense yet, but I’m excited to do so and have an even smarter house. And it’s all so affordable!

    The wyze bulb was a great addition to our little home. We’ve had the wyze cams for a while now and I have been using them in my classroom for monitoring the school greenhouse and to show live footage of incubating eggs and the kids love them.     Until I got these, I was using all hue bulbs. Since I like the wyze cameras and I like their business practices, I usually try to get in on their new products. Let’s just put it this way: I will be buying more of these and getting rid of the philips hue bulbs. They are better because they don’t need a hub, they are every bit as bright and they work with Google home (as of this review, hue and Google home are not playing nice.. Not the first time for this) and they just work! Again,price is great so I will be buying at least another 6 of these as soon as they are available!

    I had other bulbs by another company, they never worked well and always had to have a bridge that always got buggy. When it came time for Wizen to have bulbs I was more then ready. When they came I unpacked and switched out the old bulbs, it literally took less then a minute and they were up and running. No bridge. Oh yes and I connected them to my Alexa and now the fun begins making scenarios and protecting my house with more Wyze!

    Not Working For Me.

    After trying many of the troubleshooting suggestions on the Community pages, I finally was able to get one of the bulbs to show up in the app but am unable to finish setting it up. As in it says, the bulb is off when it’s on. When I tried to update the firmware but it wouldn’t let me. I’m close to packing ‘em up and shipping them back.

    Got my first package of bulbs this week, and set them up to turn on and off (using Wyze Sense) as i walked in and out of the closet. They’re super bright at their brightest, and can easily change from cool white to a warmer white color. Great bulbs at an excellent price. The Wyze phone app is really nice also – we have been using it for cameras for a long time now and it’s amazing how many features have been added on since our initial purchase. I recommend the Wyze products to all my friends.

    I submitted a ticket a week ago and the only response I got back was that they were too busy to get back to me

    No solution was given on the Wyze site nor did they get back to me yet

    My experience with Wyze leaves me disheartened

    One might guess that a new product could have some bugs but I as a consumer expect timely response and fit one way or another

    I suggest that Wyze spend more time on support and customer service no matter how onexpensove their product

    Now for the realization, of what it takes to achieve proper installation n the tweaks to that, that could be made!
    1) a central location, for installation steps, beyond the insert sent with the bulbs! I know I got the Pre-Release version! Yet, I want to make sure, that future buyers get an easier path with the installation process.
    Step one – Inform new users. Not only to update Wyse app, but to update Smart Home control devices, Apps n smart home skills (ie. Alexa), too! Along with bulbs, during the installation process.
    2) Another way to name / label. The Wi-Fi connection step to the home network. Removing the Wyse label. Maybe using W_Bulb + network id. I love to keep my wyze product safe for prying eye! I tell my friends I have a wyze home. Strangers? Not so much!
    3) The latest Links to smart home app sites (Amz n Goog) on how to setup bulb skills?
    As I said before, Once I conquered all the minor hurdles, I now truly get to enjoy all the features of the Wyze bulb.
    1) The ability to dim n set color wavelength! 2) The ability to link with Wyse sense n beyond!
    Thanks for a great priduct!
    A clean n clear installation path, would earn a 5 star rating n boost future sales of the bulb to non tech seven novice smart home users!
    Now I’m off, to learn more about the home specs for the bulb (ie. Watts used) vs other energy-efficient bulbs.

    I really like these bulbs. They respond well to the app, and I’ve had good luck using the Google Assistant to turn them on/off, and to modify the color temperature. But setup was not great. After some googling around, I found that turning off cell service on my phone would likely help – BTW, it did! – this information should be provided to anyone buying these bulbs.

    Bulbs work but not as advertised

    I am very disappointed in this product. The advertisement was very specific as to the benefits of this bulb bedsides price. I purchased based on the promotion to light up based on motion. The advertisement did not specify you also need the motion sense starter pack as well for an additional $19.95. Even with the purchase of this set, it still doesn’t work with motion.There was no instructions other than the little starter leaflet.
    When I requested to return them, they would not reimbursement me for the shipping of $7.99 or sales tax incurred. I asked for complete reimbursement because of the misleading promotion of the value of the product.
    Business is based on trust. I have trusted this company until now.

      Hello and thank you for your feedback on this. You will need to go to the Wyze app Home tab, tap on “…” in the upper right hand corner, and select Edit Shortcuts. Here you will need to add a new Shortcut with the Action “Bulb- Turn On” and add an Automate with “Motion Sensor- Detects Motion” to allow your Bulbs to turn on when motion is detected.     Best Smart Bulb Ever

    I’ve been using home automation devices since the early 90s and more recently the advent of the smart bulb. I’ve tried many bulbs and most with issues, like to bright white or shadows, or not as bright as advertised. Now Wyze comes along with the perfect bulb. Easy to setup and gets very bright (in my opinion close to 75 watt). But the best thing is this bulb allows you to mix the best of both “Bright White” and “Warm White” like two bulbs in one. And works perfectly with Alexa and my home automation software. Way to go Wyze!!

    Got my bulbs in, grabbed my phone and fired up the Wyze ap. I then used a table lamp to set up all my bulbs on my network. Used a marker to label them, installed them and added to my Alexa groups. 8 bulbs in about 30 minutes. Super easy.

    I was an early adopter of the Wyze camera which has an unbeatable price and was fortunate to get 4 of the new 4 Wyze Smart bulbs Incredible price too! I put my 4 bulbs into my kitchen ceiling fan. I grouped all four under one name in the app and then added them as devices to my Alexa account. They work like a charm. I can turn them off and one with Alexa and I can even choose to turn one bulb off at a time. Other benefits are the ability to change how bright and cool, warm and hot levels of intensity. I haven’t used the timer yet, but these bulbs are great!

    Wyze + Google Home Light Up My Life

    I absolutely love these bulbs! I bought a 4 pack and have them throughout my home. The app interface is great, but I do have it paired/automated with Google Home for a few routines. The Wyze team does it again, I have multiple Wyze Cams, Wyze Sense Early Backer, and now the Early Backer Wyze Bulbs. Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication.     Will not connect

    The bulbs don’t work with most wifi’s. So I am quite dissatisfied with the product. So I spoke to someone this morning and he said there returns department would send me an rma return via e-mail. And I am still waiting for that to happen. I will just stick to my regular led 3 way bulbs and regular led bulbs. You won’t have an issue of those not working.

The bulbs are only compatible with 2.4GHz WiFi networks, most internet service providers will have a 2.4GHz signal along side a 5GHz signal.     I own multiple Wyze products. The entire house is outfitted with cameras of both types. The bulbs turned out to be a wonderful addition to our smart home. The ability to change color temperature and brightness through the Wi-Fi is significantly more convenient in my personal opinion. This is in comparison to smart hub type devices. If you need bulbs that can change their color temperature for your smart home I highly recommend these. I am very happy!

    The first one was a bit tricky going back and forth between bulb WiFi and my router but others were easier. I connected to google home without a hitch and added four to a group and works like a charm. Next I’ll connect to smart things and Alexa and IFTTT and run them through their paces and update.

    I’m very happy with my wyze bulbs. The light quality is better than what I hoped for. The bulbs are currently being used primarily in accent lighting and they look great. It did take some time for me to figure out the timing mode but I did it! I’ll be ordering more.

Or have an external button to turn on and off. Or a smart motion that knows if light is on to be able to turn off with second motion. Or have widgets for a home screen.

    I got the lamps and they work fine. I got them to replace my porch light coupled with a light sensor. The sensor works at dusk to turn the light on, but never works at dawn to turn the light off. I was disappointed at first to realize that Wyzbulb doesn’t have on-off scheduling but later I found out that I can create two shortcuts (one for on and the other for off) to perform the same function. My suggestion to Wyze Lab is to implement this feature embedded in the Wyzebulb settings. The other issue is the Off Shortcut doesn’t turn the bulb off at 5:45 am when my iPhone is sleeping. This morning I noticed that at 5:47 am and when I woke up the phone And opened the app the bulb turned off….

    Weak WiFi signal and difficult setup

    It took me forever to set them up. It kept timing out. I finally got them set up by turning data off and manually switching back to my homes WiFi during the installation process. I have them in an area where my phone gets two out of three bars of WiFi but the bulbs seem to be having trouble getting a signal and staying connected.

    Set up difficult

    I have several Wyze products so I am not a novice. This is by far the hardest to set up. I have tried many times and used. U-tube video but still can’t schedule an on and off for the bulb. Not user friendly if you want a schedule but basic installation was easy.

    I started using X-20 home automation product in the 1980s and the problem was the programming interface. I’ve now got three Wyzecams, a motion sensor,, 2 open-close sensors hinge mounted on my garage doors and just finished scripting on / off setting for my first set of bulbs.

    Cannot get them connected

    I have had the bulbs for 5 days and still have not been able to get them connected.
    They show up when I pair them . Sometimes it says “connected” then will say “saved” and then disappear out of my list of connected apps. Sometime it says “connected. No internet access” I have connected and reconnected them several times and I can never get them to connect and stay that way nor have I ever gotten them to connect to Alexa. I have Kindles, Dots, Spots, smart tv, phones connected to my Comcast internet, but these are not working for me. Have restarted my router, restarted my phone, uninstalled and reinstalled Alexa and Wyze apps. No luck. So far they are juust expensive LED lights. I am hoping Wyze will get some kind of update or solve this problem as I see others with Comcast are having the same problems.

Our bulbs will only work with a 2.4GHz network connection, you will also want to disable your cellular data for the setup process to avoid any interference from your phone automatically reconnecting back to your other connection while the Bulb is selected.     I have 10 cameras and 4 door sencers and 2 motion detectors and they all work. Fine. But the light bulbs works when first installed but when I close the app they go off line and don’t work again til I delete product and add it again I be emailed support dozens of time to only be asked did I do this or did I do that I’ve told them I’ve done everything over and over again. They just don’t work at my house I’ve asked for refund but get no response I live my cameras and other items I’ve bought but the bulbs just don’t work for me and I’ve tried everything over and over again and email responses are getting old cause they ask same ole questions every time and I answer the same way every time. Just please help me or issue me a credit back they just don’t work for me. Thanks

    Bulbs are super easy to set up. That’s one of my favorite things about wyze products is the easy setup process. I love the options to change from soft white to super bright blue light. They connected to my Google home with a breeze too. It’s nice being able to just say Google turn on/off the lights or to dim lights by a percent. Bang for buck you will not find a smart bulb out there that’s this quality for a better price. Anytime we are thinking of smart products we think Wyze.

    I tried to setup the bulb with the instructions provided but all I could do was to get the bulb on the network. Then, I went to the web site but could not find the documentation I needed. Then I called multiple times and was told that the technicians were busy and then you hung up on me. Then I started a chat session with one of your people but I could not follow their instructions. So, I sent the bulbs back.

    Wyze Bulbs.....

    I received my early shipment of Wyze Bulbs. I love the Brightness Range and the Color Range. Good Job! Now for the not so good….

    1. The setup mode trigger needs to be more then 3 on/off cycles. I would suggest at least 5. You need a number of cycles to be sure you want to enter setup mode again. 3 cycles can be done by chance….I did it. Now I had to go through and redo my setup.

    2. My big concern! If I lose power (as in the case of a storm) When the power returns….Will all of my Wyze Bulbs default to the on Status? If I have the bulb in the off status thru the app or Alexa. When the power is lost. It will default to the On Status when the power is reestablished. Now my house is lit up light a Christmas Tree. I would prefer that the status of the bulb remain the same as when the power went off. If it was off before the power outage….It would be off when the power returned. I know this causes you some concern as to how to turn on the light if the Network Connection is lost. The default response of turning on the light when power is established will not work for me. HUE has a option called (Power Loss Recovery) which switches the bulb to the last used state it was in before the power loss. If that option was available in the APP, it would make it the perfect product for me!

    I hope you consider my feedback. You guys (and girls) do a great job.

    I have some smart bulbs from another mfr, but when the switch was used, the light will turn on in a different setting. The WYZE bulb remembers the setting and turns on the same way every time regardless if the app or wall switch is used. Very nice bulb and easy integration.

    Really liking these bulbs! Once I got the setup process down to have them pair, it was slick! I realized I no longer needed dimmers because they bulbs can dim themselves (with VOICE controls) :-) . Can’t wait to order another set for another room.

    Great smart bulb!

    First of all, you can’t beat the price. I was expecting a less than desirable bulb based solely on the price. The bulbs are well built… Set up easily…. And work beautifully. The only thing that’s keeping it from getting 5 stars is the lack of colors. But that is a minor oversite. You can dim and brighten the bulbs from your phone as well as change the shades from warm to cool. I would recommend these bulbs to any and everyone that wants to get into the smart lighting game.

      Hello, we are sorry to hear one of your Wyze Bulbs is giving you some flickering trouble. Having the bulb plugged into a dimmer switch may cause flickering. If the bulb is on a dimmer switch you will want to make sure the dimmer switch is turned to maximum to avoid this.     The shortcuts don’t work well. It automatically turns on with door opening with sensor but doesn’t turn off by itself with another shortcut set up to turn off with door closed.

    The Wyze bulbs are such a wonderful edition to our Wyze ecosystem. I love that you can schedule a routine but more so I love that it has a vacation mode for randomization for on and off switching. Cool options with color K select ability. What are you doing? Pick these up!

    Enjoying so far - could use a few more lumens

    I purchased 8 bulbs in a moment of excitement and struggling to find appropriate places for all of them. I am enjoying the bulbs I’ve installed this far but would like for them to be brighter for larger room use. As is, they are ideal for reading lamps or end tables but not as the primary source for lighting a room.

    Bulbs are great! It would be super convenient If you could set a scene or shortcut that would slow you to have the bulbs on from a specific time of day. Like 9pm turn on for 2 hours.

    I found the bulbs to be exactly what Wyze said they would be. An easy to use smart bulb that plugs into any normal light fixture. I got a 4 pack, and it took me maybe 5 minutes to setup the first bulb. After that it was a breeze. I was able to do everything I needed with the Wyze app, but might look at linking with Alexa in the future. The main reason I wanted to try this bulb was for a light on a three way switch with no dimmer. Instead of changing out the switches, this one bulb provides the function I needed with just swapping out the bulb. The only thing I would change is the ability to put them in an enclosed fixture, but I understand why that isn’t the case.
